The Journey

I am not short on reasons why I decided to blog my way through Ireland, Scotland and England, but two things come to mind immediately. A. Deep down I am a wuss and I want and NEED to stay connected to my friends, family and co-workers (yes co-workers)...B. My Mom still worries about me in the way that mom’s do, so this is my way of sharing the trip with Betty and my two sisters, Glenda and Christine.
In my lifetime I did not suppose I would travel abroad. That may well sound strange to some of the Gen Y'ers because they have grown up in a more expansive culture where the opportunity to travel is more readily available, and accepting a position in another country is a consideration and perhaps a reality for many in the current job market. The generation I come from, Gen X, studied the globe (involuntarily I might add) in school and memorized all the countries, many of which have divided or changed names entirely. Did you know there are 33 more countries just since 1990? Who knew? (http://geography.about.com/cs/countries/a/newcountries.htm)

I feel extremely blessed that I have opportunity to travel, and share my learning and adventures with others. I hope you decide take the journey with me, and that I share an experience or insight that changes both of us in a positive way. For those of you who helped to make this happen for me, (you know who you are), I am forever a "fan"
