Eternal Flame

The Eternal Flame - Amnesty International

An Amnesty International eternal flame is at the junction of Amiens St and Memorial Road in Dublin. An eternal flame is a flame or torch that burns day and night for an indefinite period. This particular flame is to honor prisoners of conscience.

The inscription at the bottom of the flame:

"the candle burns not for us but for all those whom we failed to rescue from prison, who were captured, who were kidnapped, who disappeared. That is what the candle is for."
