Loch Ness and Urquhart Castle

Though extensively ruined, Urquhart Castle was in its day, one of the largest strongholds of medieval Scotland, and remains an impressive structure, splendidly situated on a headland overlooking Loch Ness. It is also near this castle that the majority of Nessie (Loch Ness Monster) sightings occur.

It was a very long traveling day, 12 hrs by coach (bus). We were disappointed that there were no monster sightings and we were inundated with food challenges on the trip.  Either the queue's (lines) were too long, the choices were not great (haggis and egg on a roll) or service was not available. We keep ourselves pretty light hearted about the food, but miss American food and service, if you can believe that - thus, we ate at Hard Rock Cafe in Edinburgh after the tour.
