Opened in 1995, The Elephant House has established itself as one of the best tea and coffee houses in Edinburgh. Made famous as the place of inspiration to writers such as J.K. Rowling, who sat writing much of her early novels in the back room overlooking Edinburgh Castle.We did not end up eating here, which was likely a mistake. The line was long and we were hungry, so we went a few paces back and ate at Frankenstein's. Christine and I ordered burgers, ended up with funny tasting mystery meat. Food can be kinda funky in Scotland. More about that later
